| So now the Daily Mail hates Welsh people too. |
- Immigrants
- Muslims
- Homosexuals
- Unemployed people
- Youths
- Labour
Now we can add 'The Welsh' to that fairly extensive list. And what is that list? Why, the list of people against whom the Daily Mail has a vendetta. To think that my great-great (x39466) uncle worked for that abhorrent rag. He'd be turning in his grave if he could see the unrivalled tripe it publishes nowadays. Gays? Well, they're trying to turn all our children homosexual! Muslims? All they do is blow up we jolly white folk. Young people? All feral, wild and obnoxious, and usually pregnant too. And as for Labour, don't even get me started on the nanny-state surveying liberal-minded fools! And the Welsh - well, they're just not English. What am I talking about? This: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1197960/Lady-red-Katherine-Jenkins-opens-Ashes-Welsh-hymn-TWO-anthems-hymn.html Bear in mind that the entire section on Katherine Jenkins was only added after the Ashes began. Before that section was added, the entire article consisted of rants about how the match - played in Cardiff - would be opened by the Welsh national anthem instead of the British one! What horror! I mean really, how dare they open a match held in Wales played by the English and Welsh cricket team with the Welsh national anthem? It beggars belief! Ridiculous! Political correctness gone mad! Here are a few choice quotes that the Daily Fascist has to offer us: 1. "It is believed that the move is also aimed at appeasing Welsh Assembly members after the devolved body gave the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) a £3million grant to enable Cardiff to be picked as a venue for the series." No, my dear folk at the Daily Mail. Only you and the BNP believe that. Others can recognise that the move is 'aimed' at only one thing - the fact that the match is being held in Wales and some of the players are Welsh. If it had been played in England, you would have used 'God Save the Queen', despite the Welsh players, and that would have been just fine, of course. 2. 'They should just have God Save the Queen as they're playing as England not Wales and the rest of the hymns demean it.' - former England captain Alec Stewart No, my love. The match is being played under the ECB, a false acronym which actually means 'the England and Wales Cricket Board'. Anyway, God Save the Queen is the British national anthem. 'Jerusalem' is widely recognised as the (unofficial) English one. So get your facts straight, dear. 3. 'None of the current England squad was born and bred in Wales, and only batsman Alastair Cook - whose mother comes from Swansea - has any close Welsh ancestry.' There we are, then. He has Welsh roots. The team is not entirely English. So shut your Tory faces. And finally, my favourite quote: 4. The musical confusion at the opening Ashes test was branded 'ridiculous' by traditionalists. No. The musical 'confusion' was branded ridiculous by the Daily Mail, the biggest and most pompous 'traditionalists' of them all. It's called CHANGE. Guess what, we have immigrants, and it's no longer a hanging offence to be gay, and not everyone works, and some teenagers beat each other up and do drugs and get pregnant. Not all changes are for the better, but if we lived the way you wanted us to we'd still be shipping black people over as slaves and Oscar Wilde would have been shot at birth. Yours Faithfully, A white, educated, relatively middle-class, unsperminated, non-homosexual. Labels: dear world, fascist shit, rant, sigh |

Tomorrow looks to be boring.
My family are going to Hereford, but I'm working. I finish work at 1pm, there's a vintage clothes sale on down the road but it starts at 12 and ends at 3 so all the good stuff will probably be gone.
Ah well.Labels: me, rant, sigh |

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1194454/Registrar-demoted-receptionist-refused-marry-gay-couples.html
This woman is a ridiculous human being. She is a marriage registrar who refuses to marry gay couples on the grounds of her Christian faith, and wonders why she got demoted to receptionist? Face the facts, love:
1. The law now states that gay couples can marry. Call it a civil partnership, a union - whatever, they still have the rights of a married couple. And so they should! Does it matter what your orientation is? Gay, straight, bisexual, asexual - people fall in love, and they have the right to get married.
2. If you don't want to marry people, why get a job as a registrar? It's in the job description! In any other job, if you were incapable of doing the job you would get demoted. Why does she feel that this situation is any different just because there's the 'gay controversy' at the centre of it?
3. You can't pick-and-choose who you serve as a government employee. It's not how democracy works. Let's say that she was refusing to marry blind people, or Asian people, or disabled people - any other minority. People would be up in arms about her attitude instead of her demotion. How would she feel if she wanted to marry a white person and the registrar said 'sorry, can't do that. I'm a white supremacist.' She'd be furious, and with good reason. This situation is no difference. There is no place for prejudice in today's society.
4. She uses her Christian faith to explain why she can't allow gay people to marry. Well, I'm not a Christian, but I'm pretty sure that 'thou shallt not preside over homosexual marriages, be it your vocation or otherwise' isn't one of the 10 Commandments.
5. She has now come out and said that she is suffering prejudice against Christianity. No, love. The only prejudice in this tennis court is coming from your side of the net. You're the one saying 'down with gay marriage'. They're not saying 'down with Christians', they're saying 'down with prejudice'. If you can't tell the difference between prejudice and Christianity, then maybe you're not really as good a Christian as you think.Labels: dear world, fascist shit, list, rant |

| Ain't no place for a skinny blonde midget no more. |
I have just finished my week of work experience. In Barry.
Don't get me wrong, my journalism work experience placement was amazing, I met some great people (including an 89-year-old woman who kept stroking my hair and asking if I was Scandinavian) and learnt a lot about the world of journalism, and my self-confidence increased as I had to make the 40 minute train journey by myself and phone people (part of my social phobia is an irrational hatred of phoning people... don't ask!), but still, it was in Barry. Barry is actually quite a nice place. It's the largest town in Wales apparently, and it has plenty of shops and activities for a day out if you're bored. It's close to Cardiff and the countryside. The seaside is a stone's throw away. But some of the people I met really let it down. For example, the first day I was there, I saw 8 pregnant teenagers and 3 teenagers pushing a pram. I'm not 'judging' anyone who makes that decision at that age, but it was a bit of a culture shock as I've only ever met one teenage mother before in 17 years! The second day I was there, I walked past a group of girls and one said 'Jesus Lord above, what is that??', referring to me. I guessed it was because I look and sound posh, and I wasn't 'one of them', so I was automatically an outsider. That's my main point. Why can't someone 'belong' just because they look a bit different or come from a different background? Take the touchy subject of immigration for example. Britain is very multi-cultural nowadays, and that's in no way a bad thing. But it's still segregated. Muslim girls form groups in school and won't mix with other people, because they feel that they need to have the common bond of their religion to have a good friendship. That's not true. As the great Bill Bailey once said, you don't need to walk into the paddock to see the horse - you don't need to actually be a Muslim to understand their religion and accept it. It's the same with groups of friends who only seem to hang out together because they dress the same, or like the same group of music - why? Why not mix and learn something about another culture or another aspect of life? People are so one-track minded these days, and by that I don't mean that they're blind to other people, rather that they wear blinkers around others. They see the outline of the person, the silhouette, but not the flesh that really makes that being, because they don't want to know if there's any chance that they won't like what they see. To bring this post to my favourite topic of mental illness, that explains, in my opinion, why those with mental illnesses are often ignored and mistreated by society - people feel that if they've never been through it, they shouldn't even try to understand it because there's no way that they can. It's not true. It takes work for both sides, but what mentally ill people need is a connection to the outside world. If I hadn't made the 40 minute train journey by myself, I'd still be afraid to, and if I hadn't had to phone up people, I'd still be anxious about it, but because someone understood my inhibitions and helped me work through them, I managed it. And, to be honest, I'm quite proud of myself for that.Labels: dear world, me, ow, rant, sanity |

| Thanks. |
Oh, I am pissed off. I have never been this pissed off in my life.
Thanks for making me and my sister cancel our birthday party because 'you had no money' even though you have over £300 in the bank. Thanks for making my sister and I pay £15 for your birthday meal and then buy you a present. Thanks for then proceeding to invite everyone out to the cinema at a cost of £10 on the day after what would have been our birthday party. Thanks for not buying us a present or even a measly card. Thanks for fucking up our birthday and not giving a shit.Labels: friends, list, rant |

| Designer babies |
Why do so many very young girls feel so pressured to be beautiful these days? I'm a Yahoo Answers user, and if you check out the Beauty and Style section it's full of 12 and 13 year olds asking 'can I be a model?', 'am I ugly?' and 'I'm 5'4", is 90lbs too fat?'. When I was that age, I still had uncombed waist-length blonde hair and wore scruffy trainers and fleeces. I didn't care about what I ate so long as I wasn't hungry. Fashion was something in the magazines, but didn't come into real life. Now, young children are obsessed with looking like the perfect plastic figurines they see plastered all over the pages of Bliss and Shout. They're too young; they're practically still in nappies and all they care about is lipgloss, boyfriends and diets. Miley Cyrus helps us explain why this might be. At 16 years old, she cakes her face in layer upon layer of perfectly applied makeup, highlights her hair and has platinum white veneers on her previously average teeth. Was she pressured to do this by her record label, or by her lifestyle? Surely she would sell as many records with crooked teeth, but she might not get on the covers of as many magazines. That leads me to believe that she is just like the other young teenagers who just want to live up to the ridiculous expectations set by the media today. The media needs to stop treating children like miniature adults and let them have a decent childhood free from the pressures of being aesthetically wonderful and full of the pleasures of just being young. No wonder the rate of teenage pregnancies has gone through the roof; children are being more sexualised in the media than ever before. To go back to Miley Cyrus, at 15 she was posing topless on magazine covers, albeit covered by a blanket. Did they not want young men would drool over that image? The intention was to portray her as an attractive young woman, not an innocent teenager. If teenagers' access to these sexualised images of children - that's what a 15 year old is - is stopped, then maybe they will stop feeling such pressure to grow up and become sexually active themselves. I am 5'0" tall and weigh roughly 95lbs. This gives me a BMI of 18.6 - healthy, although a little on the low side. In an experiment, I asked users of Yahoo! Answers whether they considered that to be overweight. Four people said that they thought that it was ridiculously low, and one person said I should lose 10lbs. If an impressionable person were told that they should lose 10lbs, the risk is that they will decide to do just that. If I were to take that person's advice on board, I'd become unhealthy. It's people like this that pressure us ordinary people to become perfect-looking, Barbie clones, and if we stand for it, we risk our health and our society, as hyperbolic as that sounds. The media blames children for their own downfall because it cannot bear to admit that it is its fault in the end.Labels: fashion, rant, sanity |

| The glorious world of books. |
The Daily Mail is up in arms. For once, it's not screaming about how we're being overrun by homosexual Asian teenage mothers, but about the amount children these days read. Or, rather, what they read. According to its statistics, 1 in 5 children only read blogs or internet articles. So, if you're reading this, go and read a book. Geeze. Illiterate fools you must be. Ironically, I read this statistic on the Daily Mail's website*. How awful of me. I should have popped down to my local Spar and forked out for a copy of the newspaper instead. That's much more environmentally friendly and certainly more beneficial in terms of time management. But I digress. Seriously, Daily Mail, why do you make out that children these days are all illegitimate, illiterate and allergic to learning? It's just not true. I'm not illegitimate. My parents weren't 14 when they copulated behind some bike sheds and conceived me. I learnt to read before I was 3, and was reading adult literature by 13. I'm not stupid. Sure, I'm not a genius, but I can read, and surely I have the right to choose what I read. If I find it more convenient to switch on the computer and read an article about craniofacial duplication, as opposed to ordering a copy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Weekly, then I'll jolly well do so. Children learn just as much from reading internet articles and blogs. Blogs are just the humble opinions of an ordinary person (usually). What's travel writing? The same thing. Just because one is found on a screen and one is found on paper, doesn't mean they don't have the same educational value. Of course, some blogs are durge, and just 'talkk abowt wot i fink of de wrld bcz i av lived such a gd lyf lolll', but then so do many books (Twilight, anyone?). In a nutshell, Daily Mail, if you want non-fascist readers such as myself to take what you print seriously, please stop printing stories about how gay people are stealing** and raping*** all our children, how all Asians blow themselves up on public transport and steal white peoples' money****, and how my generation is beyond saving*****.

| 10 worst things about being a midget. |
1. Everyone thinks you're about 12... you can kiss goodbye to ever being asked out by a boy your own age. Also, if you're blonde and petite like me, you do get a fair few 11 year old boys gawping. Which makes me feel like a paedophile.
2. You see eye-to-chin with people. The other day, someone actually asked me 'do you see eye-to-eye with me on this subject? No, of course not, you see eye-to-nipple with me!' I did hit them across the face.
3. Going up stairs behind people. I feel like a total pervert because I have to look at their arse or their stairs. If I were just a few inches taller, I'd be able to look at their backs, but as it is, I have a view of their posterior. Oh, great. I'm a peeping tom.
4. You get things thrown at you in the street. A couple of months ago, in Cwmbran (shitty little town which pretends to be all modern because it has a shopping centre, but really is stuck in the middle ages) a group of morons thought it would be funny to throw Haribo sweets at me. Oh, hilarious. Spend 50p on insulting the titch. If you want to throw something at me, you might want to make it something that you didn't have to pay for, otherwise you're just wasting money on something that really doesn't offend me. So used to it now.
5. You get disrespected! Now, I'm no chav, so I don't go off on one when someone 'disrespects' me, but I would like some respect. I even got spat on in the street last year by an 11 year old. That wasn't too fun. Didn't help that the school didn't help either. If it were legal, I'd name and shame the poncey Catholic school behind my house that couldn't give a shit if a girl gets spat on by one of their poorly-educated religious nut pupils and can't be arsed to even telephone me or get any help for me, or even be grateful that I didn't get the police on them (which I could have, seeing as it's technically assault...)
6. People think that your opinions don't matter. I'm opinionated. I'm open minded. I will usually have something to say on a topic, and I will fight my corner. But because I look young, people think that I have the brain of a 10 year old, and thus my words mean nothing. Sigh.
7. Buying clothes is a NIGHTMARE. Well, not really, I don't wake up in the middle of the night screaming 'the clothes! The clothes! They don't fit!' but it is rather irritating. All my jeans are hemmed. It doesn't help that I'm also a size 6-8 (UK!) and the average size here is a 14. Go figure.
8. People think you're 'cute'. People actually go 'awww' to me and pat me on the head. I am not a dog. I do not bark. But I will bite the next person who calls me 'adorable'.
9. When I wear high heels, I look like a 12 year old prostitute.
10. Getting through corridors in school is impossible. You'd think it would be easy, but when you're invisible, people just shove you until you feel a bit like a ragdoll or a Guy on a bonfire.
There, there's my complaining for the day. My friend told me that I should give up being grouchy for Lent, as apparently I've been cheerful for the past 3 weeks. Score.Labels: list, me, rant |

| Kids who think they're adults make me hate the world. |
I went to town today. Yes, I do go quite frequently, but I really wanted a new dress. I bought one which has cats on, so it's obviously amazing. Anyway, I went to Claire's Accessories with my sister. At Claire's, they sell these goody-bags of sale items for £3, you get 10 things from the sale but it's a magical mystery. We were choosing (obviously not looking inside the bags through tiny holes at the top, as if we would) and a girl stood next to me. I nearly puked. She was about seven, no exaggeration, and she had heels on that were bigger than mine (I'm only 5ft, I often wear 2 inch heeled ankle boots so I can see eye to chin with people) and she was wearing mascara, lipgloss and eyeliner. For God's sake. I occasionally wear foundation. I would never go out looking like a drag queen prostitute. This girl obviously had no qualms about it, as she pottered around in her heeled knee-boots, black mini skirt, grey furry gilet and grey vest top. Jesus Christ. The mother should be shot. Kids need their youth. When I was seven, I believed that fairies lived behind my bookcase and I was part cat. I didn't think about boys or puberty. I was seven going on eight, not seven going on eighteen. I think Cardiff's pretty bad for kid-adults. Last year I saw a kid of about 12 wearing a pink leopard print catsuit with suede knee-boots and a clownface. I wish I were kidding. I truly am not. Her friend was nearly as bad, wearing a leather mini skirt and white crop top. Seriously, who do they think they're attracting? Fellow tween boys only care about Kylie Minogue and football, other tweens don't appeal, and any adult attention they get is going to be very much illegal. If I were Gordon Brown, I'd make it a law that anyone under the age of 16 could not dress provocatively. Like I said to my friend, if these girls bend over to pick something up, they'll be pregnant by the time they stand up again, and that's not a good way for our generation to behave. I'm one of the sensible ones. I don't show off leg or boob or midriff. I don't drink or smoke, and I don't put myself in a position (no pun intended) that could make me pregnant. If everyone else did the same, maybe Britain wouldn't be in such a mess.Labels: rant |

| 10 reasons why I hate Twilight. |
1. Edward's chest is 'incandescent'. Need I say more? His chest is a freaking light source. It glows, as a lightbulb would in a darkened room. How romantic. At least they could sneak around in the dead of night (as vampires are want to do) and not get lost.
2. 'Bella stared at the opaque blackboard'. No shit, Sherlock. I often stare at the transparent one they installed in the Maths block last week.
3. What Bella and Edward have is essentially an abusive relationship. A do-as-I-say-because-if-you-don't-you-get-eaten relationship. A technically illegal relationship which 12 year olds the world over find attractive.
4. Bella's character flaws are that she's clumsy and unattractive. God, I'm practically a bloody villain if those are character flaws. I'd be the troll under the bridge.
5. They get married when Bella's 17/18. That in itself is pathetic. I see a divorce on the horizon.
6. Edward reads the mind of their unborn child. Yes, he reads the mind of a foetus. Now, I don't know about you, but I never expected foetuses to have a huge intellectual capacity. It's been proven (apparently) that they can't feel pain, so can they real feel love? I'm no psychologist, but it doesn't seem likely.
7. The baby will grow super-rapidly-fast until it's a teenager, then stop growing. Now if that isn't a plot of convenience, nothing is. It's like Stephenie Meyer thought, 'screw that, I'm not going to write about 17 years of a kid's life, let's condense it into a few months and make it stop growing then so that 12 year old boys can fantasise over it. Yeah.'
8. Vegetarian vampires.
9. The fanbase are all super-obsessed and illiterate. Tell one of them that Twilight sucks and they're all 'omg no wayzzzz i iz mrs edward culen he iz sxc nd its rlyy wel writn!!!!!!!!!1111one'.
10. True love? At 17/18 years old? Oh come on.Labels: list, rant |

| Bad parenting makes me hate the world. |
I went to town today with my mum. Not much to say about that, except here's a tip - don't wear bright orange tights, a yellow sundress and high-heeled ankle boots unless you want old women to think that you're a 12 year old prostitute, or is that just me? Anyway, I went to a clothes' shop and decided to try on two dresses. I didn't buy either. One of them made me look like a turnip and the other made me look like a harlot. But I digress. As I struggled out of the second dress, a woman of about 50 entered the changing area. Only a curtain separated us. It was a tense moment. Then she realised that I existed, and went into the adjacent changing room - along with about three-hundred children. HER children. And seriously, I think at least two hundred and ninety of them had ADHD or something. One of them - 'Erin', I think - appeared to be 'that way inclined', as she kept running into occupied changing rooms. Her mother shouted, 'daaahn't do that, Erin, peopwe are in dere!' in the worst Cardiff accent I've ever heard (I'm allowed to say that because I am a Cardiffian). The girl started screaming obscenities in response, and as my ears bled, I could just about make out the woman shouting at another child (Alan) - 'daahn't run into ya bruvva like that, 'member last time you did that? 'E ended up in 'ospital wiv an 'ole in 'is 'ead and 'ad to get stitches! There were blood everywhere, do you want that to 'appen again? Then stop it!' Oh great, I'd gone in to try on a dress and ended up with a medical report into the results of stupidity and hyperactivity. Alan burst into tears at this point, at which his mother started hugging him and kissing him. What the Hell? Your kid just tried to kill his brother and you're praising him? Do you want your kid to grow into a psychopath? I hurriedly got dressed and left the changing rooms. I think my IQ dropped about 10 points during the time I was in that changing room. It's probably into negative figures by now. It would explain a lot.
Also, here's something I should have mentioned before: I have a list of things I have to do this year. I've already done two (small ones) which I think is quite good, especially as I did one yesterday and one today. Oh yeah, I started late. Completed: 1. Buy Cadbury's Mis-shapes - the chocolate equivalent of me! 2. Watch 'The Exorcist'. Ooh, it was freaky. Some real 'behind the blanket' moments. I can't imagine how they filmed that, I would have pooped myself.
More tomorrow, by which time my favourite (and only) sister will be back from her Deutsch trip. She'll be jet-lagged and cranky. Yay. Laters Alligators, in a while crocodiles.Labels: list, me, rant |

| Bad drivers make me hate the world. |
I went to Bridgend today. I don't usually. I don't wake up and immediately think, 'I'll go to Bridgend today'. Not that I dislike Bridgend at all. I have some very fond memories of it, like when I bought a toy cat from one of the toyshops there and the assistant forgot to take off the security tag, so my dad had to hammer it off in the living room with me howling like a banshee, afraid he'd hurt my new cat. My twin sister is in Berlin on a school trip, the lucky bint, so I decided 'I'm not having this', and I rebelled against the Man of boredom by going to Bridgend. On the way there, we were stuck behind a man (living corpse!) who misread all the speed limit signs of 50mph as 25mph. It didn't help that my Uncle insisted on playing whining, drivelling durge on the stereo - 'The Crying Game' and 'I Wanna Know What Love Is' to name but two - and by the end of that stretch of the motorway, I felt like throwing myself out of the car and walking. I probably would have got there quicker. Also on the way there, we were graced by the presence of a moronic tit in a BMW on the motorway doing a respectable 60mph - while on the phone. I actually stuck my middle finger up at him and mouthed 'get off your phone, you nimwit'. I can't believe the idiocy of some people on the roads. They should be torn from their precious cars and forced to ride bicycles on the M4. It might give them some lessons in safety awareness. I've noticed that a lot of people talk on the phone while driving. It's really disconcerting when lorry drivers do it. You feel like shouting, 'look, mate, you've got a big-ass truck tied to the back of your little cubby-hole, now stop talking to your trailer-mistress on the microwave and focus on the big plastic doughnut in front of you!' How hard can it be? These people have passed their driving tests, for God's sake. I haven't, and I know it's a pretty bad idea to risk the lives of others (and yourself) just so you can tell your wife that you've changed your mind about the pot roast. So, here is my message to bad drivers everywhere; STOP IT. The girl you're trying to impress won't fancy you quite so much when you're behind bars for your prattiness.Labels: me, rant |
