So now the Daily Mail hates Welsh people too.
  • Immigrants
  • Muslims
  • Homosexuals
  • Unemployed people
  • Youths
  • Labour

Now we can add 'The Welsh' to that fairly extensive list. And what is that list? Why, the list of people against whom the Daily Mail has a vendetta. To think that my great-great (x39466) uncle worked for that abhorrent rag. He'd be turning in his grave if he could see the unrivalled tripe it publishes nowadays. Gays? Well, they're trying to turn all our children homosexual! Muslims? All they do is blow up we jolly white folk. Young people? All feral, wild and obnoxious, and usually pregnant too. And as for Labour, don't even get me started on the nanny-state surveying liberal-minded fools!
And the Welsh - well, they're just not English.
What am I talking about? This:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1197960/Lady-red-Katherine-Jenkins-opens-Ashes-Welsh-hymn-TWO-anthems-hymn.html

Bear in mind that the entire section on Katherine Jenkins was only added after the Ashes began. Before that section was added, the entire article consisted of rants about how the match - played in Cardiff - would be opened by the Welsh national anthem instead of the British one! What horror! I mean really, how dare they open a match held in Wales played by the English and Welsh cricket team with the Welsh national anthem? It beggars belief! Ridiculous! Political correctness gone mad!
Here are a few choice quotes that the Daily Fascist has to offer us:

1. "It is believed that the move is also aimed at appeasing Welsh Assembly members after the devolved body gave the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) a £3million grant to enable Cardiff to be picked as a venue for the series."
No, my dear folk at the Daily Mail. Only you and the BNP believe that. Others can recognise that the move is 'aimed' at only one thing - the fact that the match is being held in Wales and some of the players are Welsh. If it had been played in England, you would have used 'God Save the Queen', despite the Welsh players, and that would have been just fine, of course.

2. 'They should just have God Save the Queen as they're playing as England not Wales and the rest of the hymns demean it.' - former England captain Alec Stewart
No, my love. The match is being played under the ECB, a false acronym which actually means 'the England and Wales Cricket Board'. Anyway, God Save the Queen is the British national anthem. 'Jerusalem' is widely recognised as the (unofficial) English one. So get your facts straight, dear.

3. 'None of the current England squad was born and bred in Wales, and only batsman Alastair Cook - whose mother comes from Swansea - has any close Welsh ancestry.'
There we are, then. He has Welsh roots. The team is not entirely English. So shut your Tory faces.

And finally, my favourite quote:

4. The musical confusion at the opening Ashes test was branded 'ridiculous' by traditionalists.
No. The musical 'confusion' was branded ridiculous by the Daily Mail, the biggest and most pompous 'traditionalists' of them all.

It's called CHANGE. Guess what, we have immigrants, and it's no longer a hanging offence to be gay, and not everyone works, and some teenagers beat each other up and do drugs and get pregnant. Not all changes are for the better, but if we lived the way you wanted us to we'd still be shipping black people over as slaves and Oscar Wilde would have been shot at birth.

Yours Faithfully,

A white, educated, relatively middle-class, unsperminated, non-homosexual.

The TV event of my year is finally upon us! Yes, I am a sad little Whovian and the idea of a whole week of Torchwood makes me salivate at the mouth. It's a shame there are only 5 episodes, so here's hoping that they're of a good quality!
One of the things I like about it is it's portrayal of gay relationships. I'm not a pervert, honest, but I find it refreshing to see a relationship on telly that's not just monotonous husband/wife, man/mistress etc. I do wish they'd be a bit more subtle about it and stop saying 'LOOK, THIS IS A HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIP, AREN'T WE ACCEPTING?' and instead just sort of throw it in the mix to show that it's normal, but it's a start. Anything that annoys the Daily Mail is good in my eyes.

So, la la la, school is boring, have far too many free periods nowadays. Boredom has set in like lockjaw. Give me some drama!

Equality is against my religion.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1194454/Registrar-demoted-receptionist-refused-marry-gay-couples.html

This woman is a ridiculous human being.
She is a marriage registrar who refuses to marry gay couples on the grounds of her Christian faith, and wonders why she got demoted to receptionist? Face the facts, love:

1. The law now states that gay couples can marry. Call it a civil partnership, a union - whatever, they still have the rights of a married couple. And so they should! Does it matter what your orientation is? Gay, straight, bisexual, asexual - people fall in love, and they have the right to get married.

2. If you don't want to marry people, why get a job as a registrar? It's in the job description! In any other job, if you were incapable of doing the job you would get demoted. Why does she feel that this situation is any different just because there's the 'gay controversy' at the centre of it?

3. You can't pick-and-choose who you serve as a government employee. It's not how democracy works. Let's say that she was refusing to marry blind people, or Asian people, or disabled people - any other minority. People would be up in arms about her attitude instead of her demotion. How would she feel if she wanted to marry a white person and the registrar said 'sorry, can't do that. I'm a white supremacist.' She'd be furious, and with good reason. This situation is no difference. There is no place for prejudice in today's society.

4. She uses her Christian faith to explain why she can't allow gay people to marry. Well, I'm not a Christian, but I'm pretty sure that 'thou shallt not preside over homosexual marriages, be it your vocation or otherwise' isn't one of the 10 Commandments.

5. She has now come out and said that she is suffering prejudice against Christianity. No, love. The only prejudice in this tennis court is coming from your side of the net. You're the one saying 'down with gay marriage'. They're not saying 'down with Christians', they're saying 'down with prejudice'. If you can't tell the difference between prejudice and Christianity, then maybe you're not really as good a Christian as you think.

The glorious world of books.
The Daily Mail is up in arms. For once, it's not screaming about how we're being overrun by homosexual Asian teenage mothers, but about the amount children these days read. Or, rather, what they read. According to its statistics, 1 in 5 children only read blogs or internet articles. So, if you're reading this, go and read a book. Geeze. Illiterate fools you must be. Ironically, I read this statistic on the Daily Mail's website*. How awful of me. I should have popped down to my local Spar and forked out for a copy of the newspaper instead. That's much more environmentally friendly and certainly more beneficial in terms of time management. But I digress.
Seriously, Daily Mail, why do you make out that children these days are all illegitimate, illiterate and allergic to learning? It's just not true. I'm not illegitimate. My parents weren't 14 when they copulated behind some bike sheds and conceived me. I learnt to read before I was 3, and was reading adult literature by 13. I'm not stupid. Sure, I'm not a genius, but I can read, and surely I have the right to choose what I read. If I find it more convenient to switch on the computer and read an article about craniofacial duplication, as opposed to ordering a copy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Weekly, then I'll jolly well do so. Children learn just as much from reading internet articles and blogs. Blogs are just the humble opinions of an ordinary person (usually). What's travel writing? The same thing. Just because one is found on a screen and one is found on paper, doesn't mean they don't have the same educational value. Of course, some blogs are durge, and just 'talkk abowt wot i fink of de wrld bcz i av lived such a gd lyf lolll', but then so do many books (Twilight, anyone?).
In a nutshell, Daily Mail, if you want non-fascist readers such as myself to take what you print seriously, please stop printing stories about how gay people are stealing** and raping*** all our children, how all Asians blow themselves up on public transport and steal white peoples' money****, and how my generation is beyond saving*****.
